Delivering the balance - food for us, food for wildlife

Conservation
80% of land in the UK is used for farming, and it has shaped our landscapes over thousands of years.

Traditionally farmland has provided many different types of habitats and has supported a wealth of different species. However over the years farming has become more intense, as a result Farmland Wildlife has depleted.

People are realising just how important it is to ensure that there is a place on our farms for habitats and wildlife.

Here at Upton we are working to ensure that the species and habitats traditionally associated with farmland are able to thrive alongside the crops and livestock. The final goal is delivering an effective balance and producing food for us and wildlife. As a result all of the crops at Upton are grown in accordance with Conservation Grade Protocols.
